Free Will of Love by Cherokee Billie Spiritual Advisor

In any given day I have clients call and ask, “I love this man or woman so much and I’ve never felt this way about anybody before. We have such incredible chemistry together. I don’t understand why they don’t love me like I love them. What am I doing wrong?”

The person is not doing anything wrong, it is just simply that free will is involved and if the other person does not have the same feelings, there is nothing anyone can do to make them love the other person. There is no magic spell that can cause someone to love you. If you think about it would you really want someone to love you because of a magical spell? No, you would want them to love you for you.

The more needy you feel about having someone love you, the less likely they are going to love you, because your need pushes them away. Playing the victim does not attract love. As difficult as it may be it is important to stay detached emotionally in order to have a clear mind and to show the strong side of yourself. Have you ever had a nagging child pestering you for something over and over until you finally give in and give it to them because you cannot stand to hear them another moment? That is what often happens in relationships. The other person may not be in love, but they will say or do anything just to satisfy the other person and stop the pestering. Many times this will backfire as the needy person never gets enough.

If you have fallen in love with someone it is your free will at work allowing you to choose love. Have you ever been pursued by someone that you knew you could not love? Did the person keep calling you, texting you, or sending e-mails frequently?  It started to get annoying after a while.  You had the free will not to love that person. It is important to remember that free will is one of the main players in romantic love.

God has given us the gift of free will and we are not puppets that can be controlled. Free will can make life difficult sometimes because we do want to control others and we have to face the fact that the Divine Creator gave each one of us free will.

You have to be found worthy of love. By this I mean you have to have self love, confidence, compassion, and kindness. These are the attributes that attract love. Fill your heart and soul with these attributes and you will find love coming to you of its own free will.

“Think not that you can direct the course of Love, for Love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course” - Khalil Gibran

Many Blessings,
